Ahhh Sweden...We Will Be Back!
Once we landed at Helsingborg, Sweden we then had to drive down Sweden to our hotel at downtown Malmo. This only took 30 minutes if you can believe it. We checked in late; I of course went to a local "grocery store" and then we all went to sleep for a full day planned of sight seeing in Malmo on Saturday.
We made our way out pretty early after breakfast at the hotel, which was pretty nice. We went on a walk from our hotel through some walking paths, found a park for the girls to play and then onto a nearby museum. Have I mentioned I have never met a museum I did not love? It was more or less a aquarium on the bottom with a natural history museum on the upper levels. The 4th floor was a bit odd. Personally, I am open with art this was Modern Art and it was a bit "out there" for me. We walked very quickly through that area.
more to add here.......
Before we left Malmo on Sunday morning, we had to drive by this awesome new landmark. It is called the Turning Torso and is based on a sculpture called Twisting Torso. It is also one of the few landmarks in the world which becomes part of everyday life with its ten floors of offices, 147 apartments and meeting facilities on the two top floors.
After the pictures of the TT, we had to drive just over 2 hours SW to Rodbyhvn, Denmark to catch our Scandlines Ferry to land at Puttgarden, Germany. Below you will see a picture of all of us at the top of the ship/ferry. If you can't tell, we are all holding on tight as it was very windy up there! The ferry ride really helped to break up the 7-8 hour drive home. Especially since the DVD player broke the day we left!!! The girls were really good on our trip home on Sunday. Whew!
